EUROPEAN ATHLETICS INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

34th European Athletics Indoor Championships will be held in Belgrade from 3rd to 5th of March, at Kombank Arena.

After first ever held in Vienna in 1970, European Atletics Indoor Championships were organized every year until 1990, and then became a biennial event.
Serbia will be the host of the European Indoor Championships for the first time. After SPAR European Cross Country Championships in 2013, two European Athletics Team Championships of 2nd League and the others athletics events that were organized in the city, European Indoor Atlhetics Championships will be the biggest athletics event for Belgraders.

The Championships will be held in Kombank arena, a state-of-the-art multipurpose hall for sports competitions, cultural events, exhibitions, fairs, entertainment and other gatherings. The arena is spacious and comfortable and equipped with the latest technology and a full range of guest services. During the Championships, Kombank Arena will offer a seating capacity for 10,000 people.

More than 1000 competitors from 48 countries will be competing from 3rd to 5th of March. Twelve talented athletes from Serbian national team will be a part of this Europian Athletics Championships: Ivana Spanovic (athletics), Asmir Kolasinac (shot put), Amela Terzic and Goran Nava (1500m), Tamara Silaski and Milos Raovic (400m), Lazar Anic and Strahinja Jovanovic (long jump), Mihail Dudas (heptathlon), Dusan Makevic (3000m), Milica Emini (60 mH) and Milana Tirnanic (60m).

Beside rich and diverse history of culture, architecture and urban vibe, Belgrade is also famous for successful athletes and excellent organisation of sporting events.

Europian Athletics Indoor Championships will last for three days, starting on the 1st of March at 9:30 am. The second day of Championships begins also at 9:30 am, and the third at 1:30 pm.
