European Futsal Championship will be hosted in Belgrade from 2nd to 13th February 2016, and all the cost of the competition will be paid by UEFA.
This is the second big sports competition that will be held in Serbia’s capital during 2016 after the European water polo championship for men and women. All of the games will be played inside Kombank arena, and they will be broadcasted in 59 countries on 20 languages.
Europe’s 12 best national teams will compete in Futsal Championship 2016, so the audience in Belgrade will be able to enjoy watching only the most skilful players of a game that’s considered as a version of a five-a-side football.
This will be the 10th edition of UEFA Futsal Championship, and the competition is dominated by Spain that was crowned champion six times, Italy follows with two trophies, last one won two years ago, so the players from the Boot will be defending the trophy, and Russia has won the competition once and lost the finals four times.
Income of several thousand guests from abroad is expected during the competition, which is a proof that Belgrade is considered as an attractive sport destination. UEFA has arranged broadcasting deals with the biggest sports television networks, which gives Belgrade another channel for promotion.
