Hindi Zahra opens autumn Musicology concert season

Hindi Zahra, a Moroccan-French musician widely recognized as one of the biggest stars of North African world music scene, will hold two concerts in Belgrade on September 28th and 29th in Bitefartcafe. Her concerts will mark the start of the new season of Musicology festival, which is a continuous event, taking place 10 months in a year, and bringing to Belgrade some of the biggest stars of jazz, funk, world music, blues, soul and R&B music. According to the tradition, the festival will open with a performer that already successfully appeared on Musicology.

The festival that doesn’t stop

While other festivals last only several days, with concerts tightly packed, Musicology is going on constantly, 10 months in a year, with one or two concerts every month. Concerts are followed by master classes and lectures, with limited number of available tickets for each event. Unlike other festivals and concerts, where sound and video effects have a large role, sound quality and fully live performances are the priorities on Musicology sessions. This is one of the reasons why the festival is already spreading to other countries in the region (Ljubljana and Zagreb).

Multitalented Hindi Zahra

Hindi Zahra was born in 1979. in Morocco, while in her youth she lived in France. Her mother was an actress and a singer in Marocco, but Hindi Zahra was mostly self-taught. Her style is a mix of soul and blues with elements from North African and Spanish music. Hindi Zahra writes all her lyrics and only some works are given music versions, while she is also a very dedicated performer, with more than 300 concerts in last two and a half years. She has two full albums: “Handmade” (2010) and “Homeland” (2015). She is often compared to some of the most renowned women music authors, such as Patti Smith and Norah Jones.

Bitefartcafe, a place to go in Belgrade

Other than concerts on September 28th and 29th, for which the ticket price is 1500RSD, we also recommend other events in Bitefarecafe to all the guests of Jump Inn hotel, especially those on the summer stage on Kalemegdan fortress. One of great events is the closing concert and DJ set on August 30th, while on November 7th, in the autumn season, Bitefartcafe will host R&B, jazz and rock musician Cory Wong.
