On Saturday, 21st of May 13th edition of Museum night will be held in Belgrade, at several city locations, as according to the date set by the European Museum night, with the head office in Paris.
For the 13th time in a row, one May Saturday night will keep whole Serbia awake until the late evening hours. This year’s Museum night is being held on Saturday, May 21 between 17:00h and 1:00h. For many thirteen is not a good number, but this year’s Night of Museums will tackle its infamous heritage with a number of interesting programs created to entertain, educate and cheer up the audience. Culture, knowledge and laughter are the best allies in the fight against superstition. And this year’s Museum Night will take place under the motto “Eyes Open to the Night” accordingly.
As in previous years, Night of Museums will open doors of some new spaces and unknown venues and tell stories about people, culture, events and architecture of Belgrade.
This year’s manifestation presents the existing cultural institutions in a new guise, initiates the establishment of the new ones, breaks down barriers and promotes cultural heritage. Museum Night 2015 is organized with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, and the national general sponsor of this year’s Museum Night is Viasat History Channel.
For years now, the Night of Museums is the most visited cultural event, and it deals with museums and cultural heritage in a very interesting and often unexpected way. This is unique cultural spectacle held in more than 120 cities around the world, including Belgrade which joined in 2005. During last year’s European Night of Museums more than 1900 museums from 45 states took part to promote valuable cultural heritage!
